Valeria is the AI matchmaker who interviews you on actual.love. This page explains what she is, what she is not, and what happens if you tell her you are struggling. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, please reach out now. In the US, call or text 988 (the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.

1. Valeria is an AI#

Valeria is an AI, not a human. She is an AI-generated avatar, and her words are produced by an AI model. No person is on the other side of the call. She can misunderstand you, forget things or be wrong.

2. Not a replacement for professional help#

Valeria is a matchmaker. She is not a therapist, counselor, doctor or crisis worker, and she does not replace professional help. Nothing she says is medical, psychological or other professional advice. If you are going through a hard time, please talk to a qualified professional or someone you trust.

3. If you are in crisis#

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988, any time, free and confidential.
Emergency services: call 911 if you or someone else is in immediate danger.
Outside the United States, contact your local emergency services.

4. Our crisis protocol#

If you mention thoughts of suicide or self-harm during a call, Valeria will:

respond with care and take what you say seriously;
refer you to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988); and
refer you to emergency services (911) if you may be in danger.

Valeria cannot help in an emergency. Please use the resources above.

5. Counting crisis referrals#

We count how many times Valeria refers someone to crisis services, so that we can report these numbers each year as California law requires. The count includes no content from your conversation and no names or other personal details. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

6. Adults only#

actual.love is only for adults aged 18 and over. Valeria is an AI companion chatbot and may not be suitable for some minors. If you believe someone under 18 is using the Service, contact safety@actual.love.
